Make it, Take it Teen Tuesdays

Join us after school as each week we will make something new for teens to take home. There is no right or wrong way to create something, let the creative juices flow!
 Snacks will be provided.
Registration is not required.
There will be no Make it, Take it in June, July and August.


Middle School Gamers

(Grades 5-8)

Join us for some friendly competition as we play Xbox, Nintendo Switch and Wii. 
Computers will also be set up for Minecraft and Roblox. 

Registration is not required.
There will be no Middle School Gamers in June, July & August.

Water Balloon Balooza

Celebrate the start of summer by having a water balloon battle.  
Teens in Grades 6-12 are invited to the library to have a water balloon battle outside.  
Water balloons will be provided, just dress to get wet!

Mystic Aquarium Squid Dissection

In a library not so far, far away there will be a sci-fi writing workshop.  Lisa Sandoval, Assistant Professor of English at Manchester Community College will give teens in grades 6-12, strategies for writing sci-fi stories.  Popular sci-fi books that have become movies will also be discussed.  Join us as we explore how to create a thrilling science fiction story.

Teen author and West Hartford native Julia Tannenbaum will discuss her new novel Changing Ways.  Changing Ways in a YA novel about a 16 year old girl's struggle with mental health and the highs and lows of her journey to overcome her disease.  Julia will discuss why she started writing and how it has changed her life.
